Ten Top Tips For Dealing with Anxiety
We know from talking to our apprentices and the young people who we support that anxiety is a very real issue for them. From personal issues at home or in relationships, to the demands of work and studying, anxiety is something that most of our learners will have experienced during their apprenticeship; And whilst for the most part these feelings are completely normal, it is important for us to try to get on top of any issues in the first instance so that they don’t start to take over and disrupt our lives.
Supporting Transition into School
Talk about things that are different from what children are used to at nursery but also letting them know the elements that will remain the same is important too. All these details can be part of conversations with children and with families and can reassure them.
Social Care Careers Week 2022
Last week saw the first ever Social Care Careers Week which put a spotlight on careers in care and educated people about what job roles are available, and what an amazing and rewarding sector this is to be a part of.

Modern Apprenticeships are not only passports to professional careers, they’re also vital for gaining knowledge and skills that can only be acquired through the experience of working in your chosen sector. In that sense, a Modern Apprenticeship can underpin and support further learning, whether that be at college, university or on the job.
Developing entrepreneurial skills in early years through creativity
The 14th-20th of November marks Global Entrepreneurship Week. Although, at first glance, the term ‘entrepreneurship’ may not seem like something that should be a priority for our youngest children, it does involve a lot of skills we hold in high esteem including creativity, independence and problem solving.
Using books to open up conversations with children about diversity
The month of October is Black History Month where all over the world, we celebrate and understand the impact of black culture in our own communities and on a worldwide scale. For our settings, this offers us a chance for us to reflect on how our practice and the environment we nurture for children celebrates and reflects diversity.
Maths is all around!
Maths is all around us and it’s our job to show children this and how important it is so they can build on their existing skills and develop new ones. The indoor and outdoor environments available for the children in our care should be full of these opportunities so that they are able to try out their skills in different contexts.
