Social Services and Healthcare
The SVQ’s in Social Services and Healthcare are work-based qualifications aimed at those working in the adult social service sector and meets the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements for practitioners.
Candidates will be required to complete mandatory and option units which will be discussed and agreed by the candidate and their assessor as appropriate to the current job role and practice.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, but candidates must be employed in the adult social service sector for a minimum period of 6 months and with the approval of your employer.
What you study
The content of the mandatory units includes;
Effective communication and recording
Health, safety and security in your work setting
Developing your practice through reflection and learning
Safeguarding individuals
Content of the option units will be specific to area of practice.
After the course
You will be able to register with the SSSC as a practitioner and be employed in a social service setting working with adults.
