Ritah Nansasi - Kelvinside Academy Nursery
Choosing the Apprenticeship Route to Success
From an early stage, Ritah knew that a career in childcare was the path she wanted to follow. After leaving school with her Level 5 Childcare qualification, she continued her learning by enrolling on the NC Childhood Practice course at college.
During her time at college, Ritah not only developed her knowledge of early learning and childcare but also gained valuable hands-on experience through a work placement at a local nursery. This combination of classroom learning and practical experience helped to build her confidence and prepare her for the next stage of her career.
When applying for a Modern Apprenticeship, Ritah's dedication and enthusiasm stood out. During the interview process, she was able to clearly demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and understanding she had gained through her NC qualification and work placement, making a strong impression on potential employers.
Rather than progressing to an HNC, Ritah chose the apprenticeship route, allowing her to continue learning while earning and gaining experience in a real working environment. She joined Kelvinside Academy Nursery, where she quickly became a valued member of the team.
Throughout her apprenticeship, Ritah showed a strong commitment to her professional development and embraced every opportunity to learn. Her positive attitude, hard work, and passion for supporting children's learning and development enabled her to successfully achieve her SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) in just 12 months.
Ritah's journey demonstrates the benefits of combining education with workplace experience and highlights how apprenticeships can provide a direct pathway into a rewarding career in childcare.
Everyone at L&G Learning is incredibly proud of Ritah's achievement and wishes her every success in her future career.
Congratulations, Ritah!
